Black currants

The most intensely coloured and flavoured of all currants, black currants are highly aromatic.
Look for plump, firm currants with shiny, unbroken skins. You can buy frozen black currants year-round.
Strip the currants from their stalks.
Can be kept in the fridge for several days. Suitable for freezing.
