Carrots

Do not wash carrots until ready to use. Gently scrub carrots under cold running water to remove all the dirt on the surface. Next, trim the ends of the carrots and peel if desired. Do not store carrots next to apples and pears, which would speed up the ripening process.
Remove tops, which are edible, and refrigerate carrots in a plastic bag for up to 2 weeks.
